The Greatest Gift of All

The Greatest Gift

Do you know why it is traditional to give gifts at Christmas time? It is because God gave us the greatest gift of all on the first Christmas. The birth of Jesus marked the coming of the Saviour of mankind. As the sinless Son of God He became flesh so that He might one day give His life to pay the price of our sin. This is the greatest gift of all and all we need do is believe it. The Bible tells us this:

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Bible also tells that we are all separated from God because He is holy and we are sinful:

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)

The penalty for our sin is death.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)

The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!

But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)

If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins! For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Romans 10:13)

...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(Romans 10:9,10)

At Casey Baptist Church we are running classes to explain these things and would love to have you join us in a small, friendly and non-confronting gathering. We can even arrange transport if you need it. If you would like to know more please call Pastor Phil on 0409 405 011.

New Community Ministries - 2018

School Bag Drive

For the past 3 years Casey Baptist Church have been helping struggling families in our community with a positive start to the year. Many do not have the ability to furnish their children with even the most basic necessities to begin the school year, and it can be very alientating for children.

We realise that a wide variety of circumstances contribute to this situation, and there is never any judgment. But we do realise that the children who experience such difficulty are often immediately identified as a target and can quickly develop a negative association with school and learning. But being equipped with some basic tools to begin the school year can make a big and bright difference to a child and family. If you would like to help, you can purchase any of the itmes below from Target or K-Mart stores and donate to the Bendigo Bank in Main Street Pakenham.

And thank you for your willingness to help us help our community!

On Track

on-track

If you recognise that your life has gone ‘off track’ and wonder if there is any way it can ever get on track, there is some very good news. Someone loves you enough to die for you so that it can. Here’s the plain and basic facts:

God has a wonderful plan for your life!

The Bible records these words of the Lord Jesus Christ:

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
(John 10:10b)

How to get to that abundant life is pretty plain and simple as well:

Because of our sin, we are separated from God.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

If you read these words but do not quite understand what they are saying, or would like to just ask some questions, please feel free to contact us. We would love to talk with you about getting your life on track.

If you read these words, understand them and believe them, and you ask the Lord into your life, then here is some information you will need to know that will help you to grow in your faith.

Study the Bible.

You may need some help with that at first, but it is so important to your growth. The next step will help you.

Be part of a local church.

God designed us to need to meet together with other believers so that we might encourage one another and that we might grow together in our knowledge of God and His plan for each of us. In so doing you will begin to live the abundant life that God has always desired for you. We would love to have you join us at Casey so that we can minister to you in your journey. That is why we are here.
